Fabrics, man made and natural have changed, defined, advanced and shaped the world we live in. From pre-history to the early Middle Eastern, Egyptian and Meso-American civilizations via the silken dragon robes of Imperial China to the Indian calicos and chintzes that powered the Industrial Revolution, fabrics have arrived finally at the lab-blended fibers that have allowed humans to travel faster and further than ever before.
Join Material Girl Kathy Ludgate as she takes you on a fascinating historical journey through time. Along the way, Kathy will weave stories of our relationship with cloth, answering the questions of why people through the ages have worn, invented, embellished, and sometimes fought for fabrics.
